“Very different from the over-cluttered sites associated with other magazines in the sector”
Hugh Pearman, editor RIBA Journal
RIBAJournal.com is the online version of the RIBA Journal, the official magazine of the Royal Institute of British Architects.
Atom, publishers of the RIBA Journal, wanted to replace the outdated website with a modern content-driven system that would allow them to achieve the crisp, contemporary style they envisaged. They also wanted clarity of layout, modern typefaces, a sharper division of the different sections of the magazine and an easy-to-use content management system.
Abraxor translated the concepts to a web format, including the very visual home page, and integrated them with the content management system (CMS). The CMS allowed automated creation, management and distribution of Atom’s publishing content and multimedia files. Abraxor designed the system to automatically optimise content for the site decreasing the time to publish articles and increasing efficiency.
Abraxor leveraged sophisticated web technologies to allow Atom to embed custom type-faces into articles to match the branding of the magazine. In addition, by integrating a digital advertising system, Atom can embed reliable, feature-rich advertising allowing them to capitalise on the ever-growing revenue opportunities their site offers.
