Search Cloud Docs
Say you have some documents locally but you also have some documents in the Cloud.
What happens if you want to do a search and pick up content in both?
If you’re on a Mac and using Google Docs, there’s a simple tool from Google called Precipitate that lets you search both your local documents and your Google Docs documents simultaneously from Spotlight.
To use it, download and install.
It will add itself to your Preferences Pane and, once you’ve given it access to your Google Docs account, will then allow you to search those documents online via Spotlight. Here’s an example:

Precipitate works by creating files on your machine that are imported by Spotlight, then periodically checking in with the server and updating local files to reflect changes. It can take up to an hour for updates to become visible in local searches. It also covers Google Bookmarks and Picasa Web Albums.
